Following the extraordinary general meeting last night there was a majority decision in favour of the AOTP to dissolve and any leftover funds to be used for education in WA for Anaesthetic Technicians by the AAAHP.
Although this is the end for the AOTP it is definitely not the end for Anaesthetic Technician educational events. The AAAHP have welcomed the opportunity to continue providing educational events in Western Australia. By combining the resources of the 2 organisations Anaesthetic Technicians will benefit the most by finally having a true National Organisation dedicated to education and gaining registration for our profession.
It takes dedicated hard working people to who are willing to sacrifice some of their free time to make these organisations work and provide educational events. The outgoing AOTP committee would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has given up their spare time and been involved with the AOTP over the years.
As previously mentioned all past and present members will be contacted and offered AAAHP membership paid for by the AOTP in the coming weeks.
I would like to invite you to a an extraordinary AOTP annual general meeting at 1830 on Monday the 19th of November 2018 at the HSU offices 8 Coolgardie Terrace, Perth WA 6000.
The AOTP committee has been in discussion with the AAAHP and feel that the time is right for us to merge our organisations. By becoming a true National organisation, we will benefit by having education consistent with the other States while strengthening our professions position in the battle for us to become recognised as a registered profession.
The Centre for Excellence and Innovation in Anaesthesia (CEIA) at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) would like to welcome you to
